Alpha-2 agonists and Alpha blockers; Does
these Medications kill’s you??
For heart
disease high blood pressure, or hypertension, is a major risk factor, the leading cause of death in the World.
But a new research has found that two classes of medication that are commonly
used to decreasing blood pressure could present a high death risk all on their
own.
Two medications ‘should be avoided’
Scientists found that
individuals with hypertension who used alpha-2 agonists and alpha blockers to prevent
their hypertension showed an increase in blood pressure variability, which
could increase temporality risk.
Hypertension is the
force of blood that pushes against the wall of the arteries. And, in few months
last year, the Association set new guidelines. Now, researcher is considered to
have hypertension if their diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) is 80
mmHg or higher and systolic
blood pressurehttps://hypertension.cardiologymeeting.com/ (the top number) is 130 mm of mercury
(mmHg) or higher, and Systolic blood pressure is the force of blood against the
artery walls when the heart is beating, the force of blood while diastolic hypertension
is when the heart is at rest, or between heartbeats.
Guidelines:
The updated guidelines
mean that almost half of adults in the World have high blood pressure, which
puts them at greater risk of stroke, heart
attack, and heart disease, among other health issues. Of
course, when it comes to treating high blood pressure, the goal is to lower
blood pressure. This may be achieved through lifestyle changes you have such as
increasing physical activity and adopting a healthful diet, medication, or
both.
